The Florence Italy Marathon is coming up on November 27th, and runners worldwide are excited to experience the beauty of Bel Paese while running through its streets. The event offers a half marathon course for those who want to enjoy a taste of the action without committing to 26.2 miles. In addition to taking in an incredible view, participants can enjoy live music and cheering crowds throughout the route as they make their way toward one of Europe’s most historical finish lines.

About the Florence Marathon

The Florence Marathon is a race that takes runners through the beautiful city of Florence, Italy. This event has been taking place since 1980, and participants come from around the world to experience its beauty and charm. The marathon route winds its way past some of the city’s most iconic sights, including Michelangelo’s David and Brunelleschi’s Dome.

The course begins at Fortezza da Basso in central Florence before heading into the Tuscan hillsides. Runners will pass by vineyards, olive groves, and cypress trees as they approach downtown Florence. There are also several chances for spectators to cheer on loved ones or take in all the incredible views along this picturesque racecourse.

At 42 kilometers (26 miles), runners reach Piazza Della Repubblica, turning back towards Fortezza da Basso to complete their tour of this amazing cityscape – finishing up with a spectacular view overlooking Brunelleschi’s Dome! This highly anticipated event always sells out well in advance, so register early if you want to participate next year!

How do you get to the 38th Florence Marathon in Italy?

To get to the 38th Florence Italy Marathon, participants and spectators can take a variety of buses from major stations across the city. Bus routes will specifically run for the marathon and have dedicated stops throughout the racecourse. The closest train station is Santa Maria Novella, about a kilometer from Fortezza da Basso – where the finish line is located. Taxis are also available in downtown Florence but may become difficult to find near Piazza Della Repubblica during race hours.

The Florence marathon is an amazing experience for runners and spectators alike. The course winds through some of the most beautiful spots in the city, with plenty of opportunities to take in the incredible scenery. Here are a few favorite spots along the way:

1) Piazza Michelangelo – This square offers stunning views over Florence and is a great place to watch athletes as they approach the finish line. It’s also close to several restaurants and cafes where spectators can grab a bite or drink while enjoying the race action.

2) Via Tornabuoni – This luxurious street is popular with shoppers and tourists, but on race day, it becomes home to cheering crowds for runners passing by. Many elegant stores and cafés line this road, so visitors can enjoy a lovely morning out watching the marathoners go by.

3) Palazzo Vecchio – This imposing palace lies at one end of the Ponte Vecchio bridge, which crosses the Arno River into central Florence. From here, spectators can see runners walking downtown and catch glimpses of the towering Duomo cathedral ahead.
